One afternoon, Curious Charles, Ahmad's golden retriever, slipped through an open gate and disappeared.
Ahmed searched the neighborhood for hours, knocking on doors and driving through nearby streets, but there was no sign of him.
Concerned and running out of options, Ahmed posted a Lost Pet Alert on Haiu, sharing Charles' photo and last known location. Unfortunately, Charles didn't match any of the dogs found in the vicinity. Ahmed was sick with worries.
A resident three blocks away received the "Lost Pet Alert" notification through the app. While walking home, she had noticed an injured dog resting near a park entrance. Suspecting it might be Charles, she submitted a report through Haiu with photos and the exact location.
Within minutes, neighbors began coordinating. One resident brought water, another contacted a nearby veterinary clinic, and Ahmed rushed to the location.
Thankfully, Curious Charles had only suffered a minor paw injury.
That evening, Ahmed brought him safely home.
What could have been a devastating loss became a story of community care, quick action, and neighbors looking out for one another.
Because when a neighborhood stays connected, no one has to face challenges alone — not even our four-legged family members.
